Shells arc, so aiming straight never works

What playing this feels like
Your tank never moves. All that changes is the angle of the barrel and how hard the shell is thrown at whatever is rolling in from the front. It sounds simple until the first shot arcs over the target, because aiming here has nothing to do with pointing at the thing you want to hit.
What has to be worked out is range against time. Too much elevation and the shell lands behind; too little and it clips the cover in between. Worse, the targets keep moving, so the angle and the moment of release have to be judged together. The opening shots of any stage are really measurements rather than serious attempts.
Pressure comes from the slow rate of fire. A miss means letting the front creep one step closer, and by the late stages several things arrive from different lines at once. The players still standing are the ones who remembered the ranges from earlier shots, not the ones with the quickest fingers. This suits a patient shooter far better than a frantic one.
