What playing this feels like

Chain reactions are the point here. Clearing a group lets everything above it fall into the space, and those falling pieces frequently form new groups on their own. The big scores come from cascades rather than from any single match you personally made.

The change that shows up in the score is reading the board from the bottom upwards. A clear low down shifts the entire column above it; the same clear at the top disturbs almost nothing. Players whose score refuses to climb are usually working through whatever is most visible, and the most visible groups tend to be near the top.

Later stages cap the number of moves instead of running a clock, which gives every move real weight. Ten seconds of looking before touching anything is not wasted time — it is the difference between scraping a stage and finishing it with moves to spare.
