What playing this feels like

Gold Coast is an oddity in a house full of dark scenery: it works in bright seaside colour, wandering along, picking up whatever has been scattered about, and finding the way to the end of each scene.

The pace is easier than most of what sits beside it. Nothing chases you and no clock hurries anything along, which does not mean there is nothing to get wrong — a few crossings need the distance judged properly, and impatience drops you straight off the edge.

It suits an hour when you want something without pressure, or a break from the shooting shelf next door. The collectables give a reason to detour into corners that serve no purpose otherwise, which is a kind of pleasure the faster titles here simply cannot offer.
