What playing this feels like

Kingdom Defense hands you a fixed route that the attackers will walk, and a limited budget for covering it. Nearly everything is settled before the first wave sets off.

The beginner's trap is spreading towers evenly across the map because it feels safer. In practice it makes every point equally weak. Far better is picking one bend or narrow stretch and loading it heavily, since that is where attackers spend the longest time within range of anything you own.

Once the early waves are through, the question becomes upgrade or expand. As a rule, improving a tower that already occupies good ground returns more than adding a fresh one in a mediocre spot — a lesson most people collect the hard way somewhere around the eighth or ninth wave.
